Changing Your Plan
Move up or down a plan, and what happens to your bill and your minutes.
Where It Lives
Open the FONE app, press Edit on the Billing card, and open the Billing section. Changing plans is owner-only — the Billing card is not shown to anyone else on the account.
One Step at a Time
Plans are ordered by the minutes they include, and you can only move to the plan immediately above or below your current one. Asking for a bigger jump is refused with a message saying tier changes are one step at a time. To move two plans, make the first change and then the second.
You See the Consequence Before You Commit
Choosing a plan does not change anything on its own. FONE first shows you what would happen — the new monthly price, any amount added to or credited on your next invoice, and the minutes you would end up with this cycle — and only makes the change when you confirm.
Upgrading
An upgrade takes effect immediately. The difference for the rest of the current period is prorated onto your NEXT invoice rather than charged on the spot, and your minutes are topped up mid-cycle to the new plan’s allowance less whatever you have already used. If you have already used more than the new allowance, you land at zero rather than a negative number.
Downgrading
A downgrade takes effect at your next billing date, not immediately. Nothing changes mid-cycle: no charge, no credit, and no change to the minutes you are holding. You keep your current plan and its minutes until the date shown in the confirmation, and the new price starts from there.
If You Have Not Activated Yet
During a trial, or before a payment method is on file, there is no live subscription to reprice. The plan is still recorded and takes effect the same way; there is simply no invoice to prorate against yet.
